Space Era's Comets(I)

  • Since January 1970,a number of different.comets have been observed with several spacecrafts.In 1980's some comets will be investigated in flyby missions and rendezvous missions.Here we call them the Space Era's Comets for the moment.A list of space era's comets and a brief introduction to some of significant comets are given.In present paper,the part Ⅰ,most of the comets that have been observed in ultraviolet from OAO-2,OGO-5,Copernicus,Skylab,Mariner-10 and IUE are described.They are-comets.Tagp-Sato-Kosaka(1969Ⅸ),Bennett(1970Ⅱ),P/Encke(1971Ⅱ,1980Ⅺ),Kohoutek(1973Ⅻ),Kobayashi-Berger-Milon(1975Ⅸ),West(1976Ⅵ),P/d'Arrest(1976Ⅺ),Seargent(1978XV),Braclfield(1979V),Austin(1982Ⅵ) and IRAS-Araki-Alcock(1983d).In next one,.the part Ⅱ,we will refer to the comets that were discovered by p78-1 and IRAS and some of the comets as,condidates that will be explored in the flyby missions and rendezvous missions.They are Howard-Koomen-Michels(1979Ⅺ),IRAS-Araki-Alcoke(1983d),P/Halley,P/Tempel-2,P/Giacobini-Zinner and P/Kopff,
