A Near Infrared Photometer With A Real-Time Data Acquisition System

  • A near infrared photometer with a real-time data acquisition system has been developed at the Rosemary Hill Observatory, University of Florida. The thermoelectric-cooled PbS detector is operated at a temperature of about 200 K. A monolithic V-F converter is employed to transfer the observed data to a microcomputer. The filter slide in the photometer contains standard J, H, K and L filters. Selected stars have been observed using the University of Florida 76-cm reflector. The performance of the whole system was evaluated. The Noise Equivlent Power (NEP) is 2.5×10-12 W/Hz1/2 in K band.
