Development in Digital Image Processing Technology

In this paper,we discuss the progresses of digital image processing during the past two decades.The third generation of digital image processing system with modularize and image-bus is presented emphatically.It points out the manipulation-speed of the third generation of digital image processing system is close to real-time.The author summarizes recent application fields of digital image processing technology and predicts the prospacts of applications in astronomy.
