The Infrared Background Radiation at Submillimeter Wavebands

  • The measurements of a new kind of cosmic background radiation (CBR) at submillimeter wavebands, obtained by Matsumoto et al., show that there is the largely excessive radiation between 300 μm and 1000 μm, which corresponds to ~10% of the blackbody Tbackground radiation. The same excessive radiation has also been obtained by the authors of this paper by means of the model of the cosmic dust which is composeed of interstellar silicate and graphite grains. The conclusions are as follows: (1) the conjecture about the presence of pregalactic VMOs should be correct; (2) the epoch of the formation of VMOs might be about z=80; (3) the content of the neutral hydrogen should be very little and (4) the chief component of the cosmic dust is silicate grains and the secoud component is graphite grains.
