Surface Map of the Array of the Two-dimensional Data

A surface map, with the pseudo-3D effect, made by means of the array of the two dimensional data(e. g. various astronomical images) can demonstrate the variation in the distribution of the data more vividly and be more directly perceived through the senses. The relative variability of intensities can be described more effectively than both the contour map and the gray-scale one. A brief introduction of the task to make a surface map, which is included in the Frce-PLOT Graphics Software System designed by the author, is given in this paper. In addition, it is also mentioned how to solve the problems of the geometric projection and the "hidden line".
