Image Processing of the Aperture Synthesis Observations of Extended Sources with the AIPS
A method is introduced for reducing the aperture synthesis array(VLA)observations in terms of the Astronomical Image Processing System(AIPS)package of NRAO. Particularly for the observation of extended sources, somenotes in editing and imaging are presented to obtain high quality images. Theauthors sum up their experience in image processing by using the AIPS.
