Infrared Sandy of the H Ⅱ Region molecular Cloud Complex S140

  • The infrared emission behavior of H Ⅱ region-molecular cloud complex S140 is examined through the IRAS Sky Survey Atlases. The IRAF and Skyview are used to analyze and thus the contours of the infrared intensity, color temperature and optical depth of S140 are presented. The total infrared luminosity within the ~35pc region is 2.9×104L. The IR thermal continuum emission has a larger extent at 12μm and 100μm. The mean dust temperature is 183K for the hot small grains and 29K for the colder larger grains. The blue and red wings of the molecular outflow are believed to have isotropic distribution. There seems to be many on-going star formation within the core of the molecular cloud complex, especially on the east and west edges of the cloud core.
