The Precision Test for the 1.2m Telescope Surface Applied to Adaptive Optics System

  • In this paper two methods for testing the quality of the 1.2m telescope system are discussed. In the first method, the full aperture is divided into subaperture with 300mm in diameter and a Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor is used to detect the wavefront through telescope, then calculate the quantity of wavef ront aberration by real-time contorlling system. In the light of the primary mirror, the second method -interference testing compensator is used. With the theory of aspherical surface test, a compensator is desig ned to compensate the normal aberration of the primary mirror. The fringes include the information about the quality of the primary mirror. At the end of this article, the source of measuring error is discussed. The accuracy of the two methods is superior λ/10 if the testing condi tion is good enough.
