A Service System for Full-disk Hα Solar Observations in the Yunnan Observatory

  • A solar Hα telescope capable of full-disk Hα observations is an important instrument for solar research in the Yunnan Observatory.Since several decades ago a huge amount of observational data have been accumulated with this instrument.The data are still being accumulated with a speed of 1G-2G bytes per day.In order to preserve and share the data with other institutions,we have constructed a service system for the full-disk Hα solar observations.The DAS+NAS hardware configuration and the PHP+MySQL software system are adopted.The combinations allow the construction of a reliable,easy-to-maintain,and cost-effective system.The service system includes all necessary functions,such as the data storage,data backup,data search,and data download.The entire system is fully functional and has been successfully operated for more than six months.This paper describes the details of the design and structure of the service system.This system is also a preparation for the design of a similar system for observations with the 1m Solar Telescope at Chenjiang.We thus also give some preliminary considerations of the design for the future system.
