  • According to the special requirement we have made the Laser Ranging for satellites on the low orbit of the Earth using the 1.2m Alt-Az telescope.This article discusses the mechanics characteristics of single and multi-point friction drives of the telescope.When friction drives are fulfilled with two moment electromotors,the telescope can reach 10°/s2 of maximum azimuth angle acceleration and 5°/s of maximum azimuth angle velocity.This can meet the demand of tracking satellites near the Earth.
